Data Description

• Source: Deng J-M, Li T, Wang G-X, Liu J, Yu Z-L, et al. (2008) Trade-Offs between the Metabolic Rate and Population Density of Plants. PLoS ONE 3(3): e1799. doi:10.1371/journal.pone.0001799

• Prameters:
  • N = population density (number/m²)
  • M = body mass (g)
  • d = allometric exponent

All of the data used in this study were collected from the literature. These data spanned a range of latitudes (18^oN and 53^oN), and altitudes (10m to 4240m above sea level), including 1266 plots/populations from six biomes and 17 forest types across China. The species under investigation included angiosperms and gymnosperms.
